What Should Be In A Dead Island 2 Collector’s Edition?
Publisher Deep Silver announced that it will give its community a chance to decide what to put in the Dead Island 2 Collector’s Edition. A survey is currently running that lists some possible items the special package could hold.
Deep Silver stipulates that this is a tradition it upheld with both Saints Row IV and the North American version of Dead Island Riptide. With the latter specification, it sort of muffles the fact that it sparked quite a controversy with a prior collectible.
In the European version of the Dead Island Riptide collection, there was a dismembered torso of a female in bikini garment. This bloodied bust lead to an outrage with certain demographics on the basis of being demeaning and such.
So, understandably, there are no real objectionable choices to be had in the survey for a Dead Island 2 Collector’s Edition. Should you participate in the survey, you’ll be asked to rank a list of 28 items from 1 to 5, where 1 is something that isn’t desirable at all and 5 is a must have.
We’d go for some rather original choices, such as an alarm clock with voice samples, a topical beach towel or a survival backpack. It’s even possible to receive a real zombie, whatever that means.
We also would’ve accepted a cheap music player replica from that dude in the announcement trailer or even just snazzy sweatbands. Alas, it’s not a query open to suggestion.
Things we wouldn’t go for are anything cat related, because we prefer value over internet fodder. Then again, naming your kitty “Rick Furry” is pretty cute, but no. No, bad kitty!
There is time until July 14, 2014 to vote on the Dead Island 2 Collector’s Edition survey. Then, you’ll need to wait until spring of 2015 for the game, which will come to Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
