Destiny Competitive Multiplayer Supports Maximum of 6v6 Matches
Bungie’s big shot is closing in on its release as we draw nearer to September. Which brings me to the question, what are you planning to spend most of your time on when the game hits the racks?
Would you go cooperative or competitive? Anyhow, I have news for the latter; the Destiny competitive multiplayer is going to support a maximum of 6v6 matches.
This was shared by Bungie’s character, cinematic and technical art lead for Destiny Tom Sanocki who also said that this was so because they feel it will enhance the contribution that each player makes to the game, making it exactly the kind of competitive multiplayer that they wanted:
The largest team size is 6v6 and that’s an intentional design decision. We decided to do that because that is the best way [we can demonstrate] the style of competitive multiplayer [we want]. This way everyone has a role and feels they can contribute. For the rest of the game, the exact amount of players [that we will allow] in the public spaces is something we are still trying to figure out. We’re still tuning that as we finish off the game and find that optimal balance. The idea is you’ll find something that feels live, vibrant and interesting. You won’t feel a low.
To me, the Destiny competitive multiplayer looks like the real deal. However, the lucky ones who got a chance to play the alpha session of the game last month would know better, did you? Destiny releases to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 9, 2014.
