BioShock PS Vita Game Isn’t Happening; Sony & 2K Have No Deal
There have been rumors, talks, and hopes for a BioShock PS Vita game since as long back as June 2011 when series creator Ken Levine talked about it at the E3 conference 2011.
However, even in February 2013 development for the game had not been started which caused a lot of doubts about it. Then, Levine came up again in July last year to say that they were trying to ‘make a match’ between Sony and 2K about it.
Now, he has finally (and sadly) announced that nothing has come of the talks between the two companies and that they had lost optimism about the project. Well, what else do you expect when you keep something like that waiting for so long?
Regardless, Ken Levine took to his official Twitter profile to talk about the BioShock PS Vita game. According to his words, ‘2k and sony couldn’t put a deal together when I last checked. They seemed way more optimistic about this back in 2011.’
However, he did express his personal liking towards the idea which he has kept for so long by suggesting that he wishes that he could do it himself and that he still loves his PS Vita but the decision has been taken because of the ‘lawyers and all that.’
Just to add a bit more to the pain, he explained what he had in mind with regards to the project. If it had happened, it would have had Final Fantasy styled tactics based in pre fall Rapture, ‘something that would work well on the Vita and not be a compromise in any way. He had also mentioned that he was a ‘turn based whore’ – strictly in terms of gaming I suppose – and so turn based mechanics might have also featured in the game.
Are you sad that the BioShock PS Vita game is not going to be made?
