IeSF Allows Females to Enter Male-only Championships Now

These days, a Hearthstone tournament is being held in Finland. The tournament was all-boys as is convention and females weren’t allowed to take part in the championship. This was in accordance to the regulations set by the International s-Sports Federation (IeSF).

However, the body has had a change of hearts. IeSF has now amended their rules and allows females to enter the male-only championships as well.

This decision has come forth after the gaming community expressed a strong desire for the females to enter the Hearthstone Tournament in question. The official website of the federation made the announcement today stating that an emergency session of the board was held to pay heed to the concerns of the community.

According to their new regulations IeSF will now have two new types of events that are ‘Open for All events and events that are reserved for women. The events which were initially set aside as the male division will now be open to all genders, and the events which were initially set as the female division will remain as they were.’

The decision has been taken to make sure that enough gaming experience is provided to the female gaming community as and when they desire it – we all know that the arena is dominated by males mostly.

Although half of the world’s gaming population is female, only a few make it to e-Sports. As far as I am concerned, IeSF has chosen the right way to go forward because the more females are allowed to compete in tournaments, the better chances will we have at their proper representation. What do you think?
