Sunset Overdrive Trailer Details Chaos Squad
Insomniac Games has released a new trailer for Sunset Overdrive that details the game’s Chaos Squad, an eight-player online mode.
Chaos Squad tasks players to undertake special missions around the open world by joining the online lobby through entering any photobooth. Upon joining a lobby, the teams vote on which of two missions they want to take on. The choice is between a high-difficulty mission or normal ones that reward you with some power-ups.
The main fun though begins in Night Defense, where the Sunset City defenders must stop waves of monsters from reaching vats of energy drinks. Players must protect their fort using weapons, traps and the environment itself. You’ll have a limited amount of time before each wave to set up your traps and prepare yourself for the onslaught.
Successfully completing missions help you raise your Chaos rating. The higher it is, the more difficult the ultimate “Night Defense” mission becomes. Additionally the higher the rating, the better the loot players will get for completing the final mission, including unique weapons and other items that can be transferred back to the single-player mode for use.
Sunset Overdrive will release exclusively for the Xbox One later this year.
