The last game we saw in the Yakuza franchise was Ryū ga Gotoku 5: Yume Kanaeshi Mono also known as Yakuza 5 while the last spin off we say for the series came in February 2014 and was titled Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! and now, there is a new Yakuza game under development.

Series supervisor Toshihiro Nagoshi and series producer Masayoshi Yokoyama were interviewed by Famitsu recently where they talked about the upcoming games and confirmed existence of a new Yakuza game.

This week’s edition of the magazine has all the details about the game but what we have been able to pick up from the online translations tell us that it is in the production phase and auditions for the game’s hostesses are being discussed.

Originally, the news was teased on the official website of the reputed magazine where they put up a page saying that the upcoming edition of the magazine will have the official reveal of the latest Yakuza game.

That being said, the last entry in the series, Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! made a commendable impact on the market with sales that reached to at least the number two best-selling game for the release week in Japan.

We still don’t have any word from Sega pertaining to localization of the game in the western market though. More information will be shared about the new Yakuza game soon, stay tuned until then!
