PlayStation Beats Xbox In Money Spent On TV Advertisements
Sony isn’t just beating Microsoft when it comes to the sales of PS4 but also when it comes to spending money on advertisements with a difference of around $24 million.
In a research conducted by iSpot, a total of $226.5 million has been spent by the video games industry on TV commercials in 2014 and most of this sum is from PlayStation and Xbox. Both consoles have had 8 TV ads so far in 2014.
PlayStation spent $59 million on ads with FOX network receiving the most money till the end of May 2014 while Xbox spent $34.7 million with Fox Sports 1 as the biggest earner.
According to iSpot, PlayStation’s most effective TV Spot was “Greatness” which featured some of the brand’s top games. The ad aired 1,058 times on national television and a total of $9 million was spent on its advertisement since its debut in March.
On the other hand, Xbox’s most digitally effective ad was “All-in-One” which showcased all the features of the Xbox One system. The commercial aired 1,300 times and a total of $12.1 million was spent on its advertisement since its January debut.
As a brand, PlayStation has generated 7.4 million actions like likes or shares on social media compared to Xbox’s 2.2 million.
