The Last of Us: Remastered PS4 Bundle Confirmed For Next Month
Sony has confirmed that it will be releasing a PlayStation 4 bundle in Europe next month that will feature the remastered edition of The Last of Us.
According to the announcement made on the PlayStation blog, the bundle will feature a 500GB console, a DualShock 4 and a copy of The Last of Us: Remastered. Interested customers will be set back €429.99 when it arrives on all major retailers sometime next month.
The same bundle was leaked earlier this week when it was listed on Amazon France. While Sony has not mentioned a specific release date, the earlier listing mentioned a release date of July 30, 2014. Sony has been asked to confirm whether the date is accurate.
Following the critical success of The Last of Us on the PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog eventually decided to retell the same story but in an overhauled setting. The Remastered version of the game on PlayStation 4 features impressive HD textures, “cutscene-quality” character models, better lighting, shadows, a higher resolution and plenty of overall improvements. The next-gen version will also include all previously released downloadable content and in-game commentary.
The Last of Us: Remastered is scheduled for launch in North America on July 29, a day later in Europe, for $49.99. It’s highly likely that the PlayStation 4 bundle will release alongside it.
Earlier this month Naughty Dog’s co-president Evan Wells revealed that they are currently working on a new DLC pack for The Last of Us, as well as on a new project that is “on the scale of Uncharted.” What is assumed to be a sequel to The Last of Us, the project is still in early development and hence will take some time before being officially revealed.
