The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Features 80 Types of Beasts
During E3 2014 earlier this month, developers at CD Projekt RED revealed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will feature 80 different types of beasts.
Speaking with Angry Joe, the developers further stated that each beast has been well thought out and has been given its very own habitat and characteristics. Every beast will make unique tracks for Geralt to follow. Players will most probably have to refer to the lore book in order to recognize the tracks left behind. Furthermore each beast will have its own strength and weakness, which players will have to find out.
It’s worth pointing out that the assumption of the game’s beasts mostly being those walking on land is incorrect. The Witcher 3 will also feature beasts that lay deep underwater or fly above in the skies, the latter of which we’ve already seen in the shape of Griffins.
“There are definitely monsters in the water, some of the them are really freaky because they fly and then they dive water and then they’re gone and suddenly pop up in your face,” senior VFX artist Jose Teixeira commented.
Players will also be able to swim underwater to explore hidden passages and fight deadly creatures lurking about under the seas.
As far as the PC version is concerned, Save Files from The Witcher 2 will “absolutely” carry forward to Wild Hunt. The team though is currently looking into solutions for the consoles versions.
The Witcher 3: WIld Hunt is set for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in February 2015.
