Octodad: Dadliest Catch Getting ‘Shorts’ DLC for Free

By   /   Jun 26, 2014

Indie developer Young Horses’ not so well received sequel to the highly acclaimed Octodad is getting a batch of free DLC. Players who were done with Octodad: Dadliest Catch can now rejoice as they will have more chances to break stuff up and get in trouble when the batch of DLCs, Octodad Shorts releases sometime this summer.

According to Young Horses, the DLC will provide players with 40 new objectives and scenarios based on locations including a hospital and a restaurant. The DLC will be free on all platforms, that is PS4, Linux, Mac and Windows.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch puts players in the shoes of the protagonist, Octodad and much like the original game, the objective is to help him solve various complex challenges and maneuver through the world all the while keeping the fact hidden that he is an octopus in the disguise of a mundane suburban father.

A 4 player co-op mode was also introduced in the game where each player is able to control a different limb of Octodad.

While the original Octodad was created as by a group of students for an Independent Games Festival, the game’s success and great reception made the students form up Young Horses Inc. as their development studio and fund the sequel through a Kickstarter campaign. While the game has sold more than 250,000 copies, it was not as well received as the original.
