After weeks of intense campaigns and voting, EA Sports’ upcoming NHL 15 finally has its cover star, Boston Bruins’ forward Pattrice Bergeron. For the right to appear on NHL 15’s cover, Bergeron was faced off against Montreal Canadiens’ P.K. Subban and ultimately won the fan votes.

Prior to going up against Subban in the final round, Bergeron defeated St. Louis’ T.J. Oshie and Ottawa’s Erik Karlsson in earlier rounds of voting, which were done through Twitter as well as the NHL website.

The results were announced Tuesday during the NHL awards show where Bergeron won the Selke Trophy as the league’s top defensive forward.

Bergeron is the first Boston Bruin to be featured on the cover since Andy Moog was on the cover of the NHL 94 video game along with Tomas Sandstrom.

NHL 15 will bring fans of the franchise a true next generation experience with a more realistic crowd which reacts to player movements on the field just as they would in real life. The game brings fans commentary by an all new broadcast team comprising of veteran NBC commentators.

NHL 15 is set to be released on 9th September in US and 12th in Europe for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
