Infamous First Light Release Date Confirmed, Aug 26 it is!
We reported yesterday when a release date for Infamous First Light was spotted over at the Official PlayStation Store. Now, we can confirm the news that the game is indeed coming out on August 26 for the North American territories.
Whether they let it slip on purpose or whether it was deliberate, the official Twitter profile of Sucker Punch Studios has tweeted an image of the game along with a caption that calls for action:
“New infamous First Light concept art! Fetch takes the fight to Curdun Cay Aug. 26 Europe 27.”
This was accompanied by a link to the PlayStation Store on whose authority we had reported the release date earlier.
For those of you who spent E3 2014 sleeping, Infamous First Light was announced as a downloadable content pack but now it is being treated for being more than that. It is a standalone expansion of the original Infamous Second Son game.
Good news for all the Infamous fans, the release date of Infamous First Light has been confirmed by SOE and yes it is in August. You will be able to get your hands on the standalone game by August 26 if Sony’s online store is to be taken for granted.
The Listing also describes the game as following:
“Locked up in a prison for super powered humans, Fetch is forced to relive tragedies from her past. Unravel her dark secret in Seattle while battling to escape snowy Curdon Cay and seek vengeance for those who wronged her.”
When the game was announced, creative lead at Sucker Punch Studios, Jason Connell explained the story of Fetch in these words:
“There is heartache, drug abuse and abandonment. Playing as Fetch, you’ll experience the events that transform her into the conduit you met in Second Son. You will get to see her cope with life in Curdun Cay [the high alpine prison] after being captured by the DUP, and experience what happens when her brother Brent goes missing – and how far she will go to find him.”
Right now, the game is up for preordering and is going to cost you 15 bucks and is going to be released digitally only.
How many of you played Infamous Second Son? Are you glad that Infamous First Light is being given the status of a standalone title instead of an expansion of the former?
