EVO 2014 BlazBlue Event Gets Over $20,000 Prize Money
With E3 now behind us, we’re about to lull ourselves into the summer, but Aksys Games and Arc System Works are still paying attention to that one other event that’s pretty interesting. The two companies have announced their sponsorship for EVO 2014, which will be held in Las Vegas from July 11 to July 13.
Arc System Works will provide $20,000 to the winnings available in the BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma competition. Aksys Games will contribute $5,000 on top of that.
Moreover, the latter company will give the winner of that competition a free trip to Japan, where they’ll be entered in the Arc Revolution cup 2014. This prize comes with a +1 invitation, to bring a friend along for the ride.
In side events, the companies will display a demo for the oddly named Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, which is the first time people can play it. Playable builds of BlazBlue Battle Cards and Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! will be present as well.
Those names really need work.
There will also be the possibility to meet up with Toshimichi Mori, creator of the BlazBlue series, at EVO 2014, where they’ll be holding a signing session. Actress Kana Ueda, voice of Rachel Alucard, will be signing free posters there as well.
Other championships taking place at EVO 2014 include the classic Street Fighter tournaments, as well as Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Fights can get quite intense at the event, so make sure to pick up on a livestream or two, if you get the chance.
