In a new trailer released today, Sledgehammer Games takes us behind the scenes to show just how the story was crafted for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The latest iteration in the Call of Duty franchise heads into the future, a setting that took the developers three years to craft. While even the last titles in the series featured some sort of advanced military equipment, the new one plans to trump even that with its envision of the future.

Studio co-founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey believe that the new flavor to the gameplay will redefine the franchise. In the trailer, the two discuss how they plan to tap into the future with futuristic weapons like detection grenades and how important the exoskeletons will be.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactics have evolved to usher in the new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.

Sledgehammer Games looks fully committed to pushing the boundaries of the Call of Duty franchise with their version of the future in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The game is scheduled for release on November 4 on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
