Former The Last Guardian Devs Start a New Studio, “Vane” to be Their First Project

You have played The Last Guardian right? It was a pretty impressive game, so much that we think the news of two of its developers launching a studio of their own is news worth reporting. The two devs in question worked as concept artists for the SCE title.

The indie studio that they have launched in called Friend & Foe and is going to kick off with a single player game called Vane. Check out the image above for the two screenshots that they have shared, go here to read up more about it and read up on what Friend and Foe is about below:

“Friend & Foe is made up of Ivar Dahlberg, Rasmus Deguchi (that’s me), Rui Guerreiro, Thomas Lilja and Victor Santaquiteria – five guys who’ve spent lots of time as artists in the game industry and long ready for the indie adventure. Rui and I used to work together at Sony on The Last Guardian, and the other guys have numerous big-league titles under their belt, like Bionic Commando, Battlefield 3 and Killzone. In a lot of ways we know what we’re doing, but at the same time we are all noobs at this.”

Alright, that is supposed to be the first time that the owner of a newly started studio has called himself and his teammates noobs. However, I do appreciate the humbleness.

The images show a game highly influenced by Team Ico, the developers of The Last Guardian, but only time will tell how far they can take Friend & Foe and their new game Vane.
