Splatoon for Wii U Has 1v1 Local Multiplayer, Confirms Producer
Splatoon was announced couple of weeks back as a third person shooter by Nintendo. It is being developed for Wii U by Nintendo EAD Group No 2 while the publisher is Nintendo itself. Now, we have picked up word that the game is not just going to have a single player and a 4v4 online multiplayer; it will also have a 1v1 local multiplayer mode.
Couple of days ago, the game’s producer and manager Hisashi Nogami was interviewed about the game and its different modes. His reply was more than reassuring:
“First of all, our plan is to release this as a full retail packaged software in 2015… the first half of 2015. And because we’re releasing this as a full software title, we of course plan to include a single-player mode but then also a one-on-one multiplayer mode that can be played without connecting to the Internet.
What we can tell you about the one-on-one, at least, is that one player will be using the GamePad, one player will be using the Pro Controller. And we’re actually thinking of having that one-on-one mode be something kinda completely different from the four-on-four one where it’ll be, you know, kind of a lot more stalking and hiding in the ink. It’ll be much more like a quiet mode in a sense.”
That is all good but so far, they haven’t decided how it will play out on screens – whether the TV and gamepad will both be used is still a question. How interested are you in Splatoon for Wii U?
