The Settlers: Kingdoms of Anteria Announced For Fall
The Settlers: Kingdoms of Anteria is the latest installment in the building simulation series and will release sometime this fall.
Announcing the game today, Ubisoft stated that the new title will see to the franchise steering in a new direction. However, the company did not reveal further as to what new features the new direction will bring.
The game is currently being developed by Blue Byte who have also released an announcement trailer with some sweet cinematic shots.
“By reinventing our approach to the franchise, The Settlers: Kingdoms of Anteria offers players a brand new experience full of new possibilities to explore,” said Christopher Schmitz, Director of Product Development at Blue Byte. “Without a doubt, this is the most innovative Settlers’ game we have ever created.”
New steps can be really risky for a franchise that has already set its roots down over the years. The announcement trailer is encouraging but we’ll know for sure where the game stands when Blue Byte offers more reveals.
Despite everything, The Settlers: Kingdoms of Anteria still looks a game that will feature strong strategic and building elements and will probably succeed in attracting fans of the genre. Like most RTS building titles, players will be tasked with establishing a prosperous kingdom while also fighting off invading armies.
The studio has promised something special at Gamescom which takes place in August.
