Namco Bandai Dropping New Godzilla Game on PS3

It has been revealed that Namco Bandai is working on a new Godzilla game that will be released this winter for the PlayStation 3.

News on the game was revealed through this week’s round up of Japanese magazine leaks. The report states that the behemoth will feature retro special effects, and that SH Monster Arts (makers of the figure above) are creating 3D models and 3D skin for the Godzilla video game.

It is also said that Godzilla will be bringing everything but the kitchen sink to fights. That includes his ability to use kicks, tail swipes and his trademark atomic breath.

Players will be able to take down buildings, interact with rubble and pretty much wreak havoc as he sees fit.

The game is scheduled for release this winter in Japan and will mark a momentous occasion in Namco Bandai’s history who hasn’t worked on a Godzilla game since the Game Boy days. Development of the game is currently said to be 40 percent complete. It’s unknown if the game will be transitioning to the PlayStation 4 or not.
