Portal-like Magrunner: Dark Pulse Free On GOG Today
Online store GOG.com is taking its merry-go-round 2014 Summer Sale to a new height with a free game, along with tons of additional deals. For the next 24 hours, you can go to the site and pick up a copy of Magrunner: Dark Pulse without the need for any purchase, absolutely free.
Magrunner is a first-person puzzle games from developer Frogwares, known for their work on the Sherlock Holmes franchise. It has a similar puzzle mechanism as Portal, but in a Lovecraft setting, mixed with cyberpunk.
When you’re on the front page of GOG, all you need to do is click the Magrunner banner. From there, a message will show up that your copy will be confirmed through your account’s email address. It showed up here nearly instantly.
Along with the freebie, GOG is throwing up 30 bundles at a sizable discount, going as low as 90% and frequently shaving off more than 75%. There are themes for every taste, but roleplaying games in particular get a ton of choices.
If you want some suggestions, we’d definitely go for the Bullfrog Classics pack, which is 85% off, as well as the Thief Classics pack, which costs just $5.97.
Should these deals for some reason not suit you enough, the usual deals from the GOG Summer Sale are still active as well. These flash deals will appear and revolve at certain times, offering pretty great games for deep discounts.
At the time of writing, we suggest picking up social media sim Redshirt and rage quit anime sim Long Live the Queen. That latter one is really a beautifully depressing game more people should subject themselves to.
