Orcs Must Die! Unchained Enters Closed Beta Next Week

By   /   Jun 18, 2014

Orcs Must Die! Unchained is the latest entry in Robot Entertainment’s humorous dungeon defending series and will be entering closed beta next week.

Unlike the first two games, Orcs Must Die! Unchained will be free-to-play. Additionally it will take a break from solo-play and introduce a team-based experience.

The first title had only a solo mode, while the second allowed co-op with a friend using a female wizard. The new title will increase the number of playable parties to eight, where two teams of four will be pitted against each other.

Like any card game, players will have to setup decks to equip their characters with weapons, traps, spells, and upgrades. The better decks will obviously show as each team will try to destroy the other’s portal.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained will enter closed beta next week on June 27 on the PC. Compared to its alpha testing, it will feature a new map, three new heroes and the deck editing system.

You can register for the beta over on the game’s official site, but if you’re already in the alpha then you are guaranteed access. You can also purchase the game’s Founder’s Packs for a guranteed entry. These range from $19.99 to $149.99.
