Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Patch 2.1.0 Unveiled, Ladders, Rifts and More

By   /   Jun 18, 2014

Blizzard surely deserves appreciation for keeping Diablo III fresh and continuously improving its replayability value.

Over Battle.Net, Blizzard has detailed ‘the first major content patch for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls which is right around the corner and will soon be arriving on the game’s Public Test Realm. Here’s a brief overview of what players can expect from the upcoming Patch 2.1.0:

One novel addition is called Seasons which will operate just like Diablo 2’s Ladders. Players participating in the Seasons will start Level 1 character from scratch, earn exclusive rewards while grinding, acquire unique legendary items, and earn Conquests which are unique Season-only Achievements.

Furthermore, they will also compete across new Leaderboards which will track their progress throughout each Season.

Another addition dubbed as Greater Rifts will work like Wildstar’s quest system and let players test their gear in a timed rift. Slaying monsters will fill up the time bar with tougher mobs filling it up quicker than smaller enemies.

Once a player has successfully completed a Rift, they will move onto the next one.

Finally, a new zone for Adventure Mode – called as The Cesspools – is also planned to release alongside the upcoming patch. Blizzard originally planned it to release as a part of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, but it somehow got delayed.

Other minor changes include Combat Changes related to Dexterity, Survivability, and healing.

Check out the complete preview at Battle.Net and let us know of your impressions!

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is scheduled to launch across Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 on Aug. 19, 2014.
