Ubisoft Hints Assassin’s Creed: Comet Reveal Soon
Rumors for the Assassin’s Creed project code-named Comet are going to be soon put to rest. Ubisoft marketing executive Tony Key has hinted that a new Assassin’s Creed title is going to be revealed soon for Xbox 360 and PS3.
He said this while talking to GameSpot. However, upon being asked whether this is the same rumored Assassin’s Creed: Comet title, Key noted that “there’s plenty of current-gen Assassin’s Creed fans out there” and that “we hope to be able to talk to them about that soon.”
So yes, it’s definitely is the rumored Assassin’s Creed title for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is said to be entirely separate from Assassin’s Creed: Unity, the new title just revealed at E3 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Key stated that Unity is “built for next-gen; it can’t be done on current-gen, at least we haven’t figured out how and we’re not trying to.” It’s admirable to see the studio continue to support the last-gen consoles with whatever project Comet is. The studio could had just easily gone with Unity alone this year, and no one would had raised a finger.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity is scheduled for release on October 28 and supports four player co-op for the first time in the series.
