Destiny: PS4 Public Alpha Message Trolls Players

By   /   Jun 14, 2014

Redemption codes for Destiny’s public alpha were recently emailed to all participants. The email came with a set of instructions that informed the PlayStation 4 user to simply redeem the code through the PlayStation Store and start playing.

However, upon activation players received the following message: “You have successfully upgraded the trial version of Destiny’s First Look Alpha to the full game. You don’t need to download anything. You can now launch the full game from the content area”

As you can well imagine, a lot of players were trolled into believing that they somehow have managed to get the full complete game, and that too for free.

In actuality that’s not the case. The message is surely not because Bungie or Sony wanted to prank their fan base. It is a result of the PlayStation Store simply telling you that you now have access to the “full game.” The words here are meant for the full alpha version of Destiny.

In the future, that should be corrected with better wording. We don’t want some angry customer venting his anger on forums because he thought he was swindled out of a free complete game.

Destiny is scheduled for an official release on September 9 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. In the meantime have fun playing the game’s public alpha, which will probably come with its share of bugs and glitches.
