Curious About Far Cry 4 Multiplayer Sharing? Here’s How it Will Work
One of the most amazing features of Far Cry 4 announced at E3 2014 is the ability to play the game without buying it. Though this has left many fans fascinated, details on how this will work has been scarce; well, until now.
To get this to work, you must have a copy of Far Cry 4 on PS3 or PS4 alongside a valid PSN subscription. This will entitle you to get 10 invites which can be sent out to your friends who do not have a copy of the game.
To start playing, your friends must download a massive companion application since it will contain all the data of the game. Once the download is complete, they will be able to start a free trial and:
Explore Kyrat together, capture outposts, gain money and experience, and create your own stories with a friend.
For how long this trial will last is not clear, but the game Executive Producer Dan Hay has stated that they are going to be generous with it, giving plenty of time to explore everything from riding elephants to taking outposts, together:
We’re going to be generous. We want you to basically download the game, jump in your buddy’s game, play as Hurk, play for a couple hours, run around, experience the entirety of the world, take over some outposts, take over some fortress, understand what it’s like to be able to wingsuit, to be able to climb on top of the elephants, to be able to get a whole bunch of new vehicles and weapons, and effectively play the game.
For those of who are unaware, Hurk first appeared in Far Cry 3 as a non-playable character and this is the very first time a character will appear in two Far Cry games. This has raised many questions about the game’s setting and era in which it is set.
Far Cry 4 is scheduled to release on Nov. 18, 2014 later this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
