Kingdom Hearts 3: Storyline Is Not Finalized Yet

New story details for Kingdom Hearts 3 have been released, courtesy of a recent interview of franchise co-director Tai Yasue.

Upon being asked about the game’s teaser in the recent 2.5 HD Remix trailer, Yasue said: “Although the footage may change, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be about those words from the start of the game. It’s a secret but as for whom the person speaking is, you may be able to pin [their identity] down immediately from the figures seen.”

As for the storyline itself, Yasue revealed that it has not been finalized yet.

“I can’t say for sure but a portion of it has been set in stone. When creating a Kingdom Hearts game, the storyline must usually be completely determined; how it will play and its system will be quickly developed simultaneously.”

At the end the developer promised that new information on both the game and its storyline will be released once they are ready. He asked all fans to “please stay tuned!”

As with the previous titles in the franchise, Kingdom Hearts 3 will merge Final Fantasy with Disney’s universe but this time will feature an adult Sora.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but does not currently have a release date.
