Hitoshi Yamagami of Nintendo describes the game as turn based strategy title that will include some of the core components of action games. The game will feel like any other shooters you play as there will number of different and unique missions with their own special maps.

S.T.E.A.M. will be played in a third-person perspective but there will be no mini-map because developer wants you to explore as much as you can and find new pathways.
