Code Name S.T.E.A.M. Announced For 3DS, Details Inside
Code Name S.T.E.A.M, an acronym for Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace, that was trademarked earlier this year by Nintendo has been officially revealed as a new 3DS title that will hit the shelves in 2015.
Hitoshi Yamagami of Nintendo describes the game as turn based strategy title that will include some of the core components of action games. The game will feel like any other shooters you play as there will number of different and unique missions with their own special maps.
S.T.E.A.M. will be played in a third-person perspective but there will be no mini-map because developer wants you to explore as much as you can and find new pathways.
Moreover, there will be a level up system as well for your characters and weapons as you progress through the game. The characters will also be given a second weapon along with the primary one and a special ability that can only be used once per map.
Touch screen will play a very important role in the game as many of your moves and abilities will depend on it.
Character design and environments of the game are inspired from comic books, while the audio is done by Yoshito Hirano, who was responsible for the sounds of Advance Wars franchise.
S.T.E.A.M. will be revealed to public on last day of Nintendo Treehouse live E3 broadcast.
