Having ditched Kinect for the Xbox One, Microsoft was freely ready and motivated to filling their E3 conference with nothing but games. Sony on the other hand had to make space for various other announcements concerning the PlayStation Vita and TV.

On top of that, Sony’s press conference comprised of all western titles. Except for Bloodborne there were no Japanese titles, no new RPGs; and the company’s faithful followers wondered if Sony was trying to take it easy this year.

Speaking with Japanese site 4Gamer, SCE Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida assured that there are many Japanese titles in development right now and they’ll surprise everyone when they are revealed at TGS 2014.

This time we were focused on introducing titles for the North American region, but of course about Japanese games first parties and also third parties are developing a large number or them. We should be able to show you the latest in that area at Tokyo Game Show 2014.

On the taboo topic of The Last Guardian, Yoshida once again stated that the game’s development is progressing fine. However, he declined to comment when he was asked whether the game has been shifted to the PS4.

TGS 2014 will take place in September, right after Gamescom in August.
