Far Cry 4’s Rickshaw is Different From What You Will Find in Himalayan Region
Prior to Far Cry 4 announcement, the whole industry was swarming with rumors of Himalayas being the location of next Far Cry game; which turned out to be true! However, the announcement wasn’t as seamless as expected, thanks to Pagan Min controversy.
The role of this Vaas-inspired character is not clear.
Whether he will be an antagonist, a sidekick to our main character, or playing any other role, it is not known. However, there is no doubt about his calmly fierce personality, his madness, and his quality of being particular with his words.
While speaking about the game’s setting, Ubisoft’s Dan Hay stated that he along with his crew actually went out to explore Himalayas, saw its traditions and customs, and the beautiful scenery surrounding it. And, without a doubt, they have achieved a remarkable goal with the game.
Being an Asian born, I was quite surprised to see that Ubisoft has paid heed to the smallest of the things. Soldiers speaking an amalgam of Hindi/Urdu dialects left me gawking.
The E3 2014 demonstration that we saw yesterday gave a long enough glimpse of virtual open-world of Nepal at its finest. Fresh water lakes, snowcapped peaks of Himalayas, glaciers falling down, and traversing through the rocky terrain have been perfectly depicted.
To make it feel more realistic, the players will be able to drive a wide arsenal of vehicles commonly found in Nepal. I’m not referring to jeeps, buses, even elephants, but also rickshaws.
A common mean of transport in Asian countries, Far Cry 4’s version of rickshaw was way wrongfully done differing from what we mostly find across Nepal, India, and Pakistan.
Talking about means of transportation, the game has a welcome addition of wing-suits, enabling you to drift through the winds and cut through sky-touching mountains.
This gigantic world perfectly portrays what a living world should look like!
The NPCs will have their own affiliations with other NPCs, they will follow a routine, feed their animals, work on farms, and travel to distant lands. Sitting atop of a mountain cliff and looking down on the lands and people in it, is an experience never seen before.
The experience gets even better with a friend in a four-player co-op mode. The number of tasks you can accomplish is endless and the game constantly urges you to go out and explore the world.
From Liberating Fortresses to hunting and from riding elephants to catch your enemies off guard to using a wide arsenal of weapons, the opportunities are simply endless.
Coming to weapons, the game features weapons like Daggers, Crossbow along with a feature that will let you kick explosives canisters to plan your attack. Sadly, we could not get any information on crafting, but I’m hopeful, it will make a return.
Far Cry 4 is scheduled to release on Nov. 18, 2014 across Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.
