Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Announced For Wii U

By   /   Jun 10, 2014

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a cute puzzle game that Nintendo announced earlier today for the Wii U during its digital E3 press conference.

Fitted with an over-sized headlamp and a ginormous backpack, Captain Toad uses his wits and tracking abilities to find hidden gems, coins and other treasures.

His main quest though is to somehow find the fabled gold star, a quest that in no way is easy and is riddled with dangerous puzzles and enemies at every turn.

A trailer shown by Nintendo showed the game’s 3D stages, much like what we saw in Super Mario 3D World. Players can change their perspective by twisting the camera to look around for hidden locations and traps.

Players can also use the Wii U GamePad to get a closer look at the stage and for its gyro controls. Toad though cannot jump, hence making all these tools even more important for accurate decision making.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is confirmed for a launch sometime this Holiday Season for the Wii U.
