Voting to select the cover athlete for Madden NFL 15 has come to an end, and it is Seattle Seahawks’ corner back Richard Sherman, who has won the final voting round against Carolina Panthers’ quarter back Cam Newton with 56% of votes.

The voting began almost a month ago, where 16 players from different teams were selected and divided into two brackets of eight, but due to the attention, Richard Sherman has been getting in media, many predicted that he will come out on top, and they were not wrong.

Both of the athletes faced a lot of competition in their respective brackets but fans spoke their minds and from first bracket, Richard Sherman managed to beat everyone else, while the second bracket was won by Cam Newton.

Cam Newton being a quarter back has a lot of fan base, and he gave Sherman extremely good competition in the final round, where he got beaten by just 6% of the votes.

The whole process of involving the fans into selection process for Madden NFL 15 cover was a great step from EA and ESPN as it kept fans of the sport very interested and it might reflect on game’s sale as well, come 26th August.

Madden NFL 15 and other EA Sports titles coming to next-gen platforms this year, will be powered by the Ignite Engine, which will give a very realistic feel to the players, environments and gameplay.

Madden NFL 15 is set to launch on 26th of August for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
