Star Citizen Visual Comparison Max Vs Lowest Settings
A user on reddit has posted some screenshots of Star Citizen to compare the visuals at lowest settings and at max settings. As an attempt at humor, the user also posted an image of a Xbox 60 space sim to show how PC is the master race.
The visuals are pretty amazing even at low settings but taking them to maximum shows something entirely new. This just shows how impressive Crytek’s CryEngine 3 can be even after all these years.
It will however be unfair to compare it to other AAA titles with similar high level graphics since the amount and variety of content they have to render is very different than Star Citizen.
The game is still in very early stages of development so we can safely assume there will be even more visual improvements.
Development on Star Citizen originally began in 2012 on a modified variation of CryEngine 3. A large part of the funding for the game was acquired through a Kickstarter campaign. The game is now the highest raising crowd funded project ever, surpassing $44 million and will continue to gather donations till its release.
Star Citizen is being developed by Cloud Imperium Games for Windows, OS X and Linux and is expected to release sometime in 2015.
