World’s Largest Video Game Collection is Being Auctioned, 11K+ Titles
Anyone who is fond of collecting games will find this heart wrenching and exciting at the same time. Heart wrenching because it is obviously hard to let go of a prized asset of yours and you would know the attachment one has with their game collection and exciting because you might be crazy enough to want to own more than 11,000 games at once!
Yes, this is actually happening. If you are a thorough gaming geek, you will know about Michael Thommason the Guinness World Record holder for the World’s Largest Video Game Collection. He has decided to let go off all the games he owns and an auction is in process as we speak.
So why is he selling it, you might ask. Apparently he has some financial needs of his family that he needs to meet:
“I simply have an immediate family and extended family that have needs that need to be addressed. While I do not wish to part with these games, I have responsibilities that I have made to others and this action is how I will help meet them. No worries, I’ve sold my collection many times in the past and still managed to capture Guinness’ attention, and it is entirely possible that I may again.”
Currently the bid is at $5778 with only a total of seven bids and you have until June 15, 2014 to give yourself a chance at this.
