Terraria Wii U Version is not Going to Happen, Confirms 505 Games

Quite a few of the new indie games have been paying a visit to Wii U however, that is not going to be the case with Terraria. It has been confirmed that Terraria Wii U version is neither being developed nor is it in the plans.

Over at the official forums of Terraria it was announced that the game is going to get a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version. As much as this news made people jump with joy, there still are people who have been waiting patiently for Terraria Wii U version.

Sadly, 505 Games has confirmed that they have no such plans despite the fact that control mechanism of the game would go in complete harmony with Wii U:

“We do not have any plans to bring Terraria to Wii U and it is not in development. Sorry. While the control mechanism may be nicely translated (agreed on that end), there are other factors at play that prevent it from happening and we don’t expect that to change any time soon unfortunately.”

They also explained why the PC version of the game is always a little better than the console versions. They said that the problem lies in the nature of the development. Re-Logic is tasked with the PC version and everything is made by them first and then it is given to Engine Software for the ports. They said that PC being the primary platform and the effects of the process make it hard to develop a console version that is better or even equal in quality:

“Relogic makes the game on PC, we wait for them to finish the content, they send us the content, and we port it over. Therefore, console versions will always be slightly behind the PC version with nearly impossible live parity.”

Anyhow, are you glad that the Xbox One and PS4 version are coming or there is a large enough audience that wants a Terraria Wii U version?
