Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Gets a Gameplay Sneak Peak

By   /   Jun 5, 2014

During today’s episode of Kojima Station video cast, Hideo Kojima gave a small sneak peak of the gameplay from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The game will make a full debut at E3 next week.

The video mainly focuses on the stealth element of the gameplay like hiding in dumpsters and taking cover behind objects. One of the major elements involving stealth would be the movement while hiding in a box and that is shown in the video as well.

Big Boss or Punished Snake, depends what you want to call him selects the cardboard box from what seems to be the game’s version of a weapon wheel and the box drops out of air and players can hide underneath it.

The cardboard box also allows movement while hiding underneath it albeit at a slow speed.

The video also shows highlighting enemies through binoculars as well as aiming through weapons. Players can also scare enemies into surrendering if they are behind them, preventing needless bloodshed if you are the pacifist type.

Did you have chance to check out the livestream? Excited about the gameplay debut at E3? Share your thoughts below.
