Halo 2 Anniversary Edition Apparently Teased by Major Nelson
Earlier today, Microsoft’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb affirmed PC support for Xbox One controllers on his official weblog. It looks like most of the people were so overwhelmed with joy that they neglected the featured image posted alongside the blogpost.
The image (which can be seen above) in discussion shows an Xbox One controller plugged into a Windows Surface Tablet running Halo 2 or Halo 2 Anniversary Edition.
Now, those of you who have played Halo 2 PC Edition should have no problem in indentifying this image as main menu of standard Halo 2 game.
However, if you have been following the gaming scene, you will know that rumors of Halo 2 on Xbox One has been in the news for quite a long time.
Even Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has posted a never-ending list of teaser announcements related to Halo 2 Anniversary stating that it should have a fantastic multiplayer (if it were to be remade).
Then we had voice actor for Master Chief, Steve Downes who stated that fans will not see Halo 5: Guardians in 2014, but they will certainly see Halo 2 Anniversary.
Last but not the least, there have been rumors of Halo: The Master Chief Collection which is reported to include re-imagined versions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 exclusively for Xbox One.
I do realize that a single photo with Halo 2 main menu does not indicate anything, but it is something to go on; especially if Major Nelson’s blogpost reads:
We look forward to sharing more about the amazing lineup of games coming to Xbox during our Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing.
Microsoft has already announced Forza Horizon 2 and Halo 5: Guardians. Could Halo 2 Anniversary make an appearance at E3 this year? What do you think?
