Forza Horizon 2 Runs at 1080p 30fps on Xbox One
Playground Games announced today that Forza Horizon 2 is going to run on the Xbox One in glorious 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The developer though did not reveal as to how the game would run on the Xbox 360. We can speculate that it will still achieve 30 frames per second and will probably be running at either 900p or lower.
“I think what we did on Horizon was demonstrate that, and this is really important, a locked frame rate that’s absolutely solid and never drops is the most important thing for our game,” creative director Ralph Fulton told IGN. “30 [frames-per-second] actually enables us to realise that experience.”
“I think I remember that’s always a hot-button topic, until a game comes out and people go, ‘Oh, this actually really works.’ But 1080p was an absolute must for us; it’s the benchmark for next-gen.”
Forza Horizon 2 has only been confirmed for release later this year and for now has no specific release date. The game though will still be competing against Sony’s DriveClub that’s scheduled to release this October on the PlayStation 4. Microsoft will probably be looking at a holiday release date.
Footage of Foriza Horizon 2 is expected to be shown at E3 2014 this weekend.
