Publisher 505 Games has announced today that the sandbox adventure title Terraria will be releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

According to the announcement made on the online forums, the game will have support for cross-save and cross-play features with the PlayStation Vita. Additionally the newer version will be released with the contest from the game’s 1.2 update. That includes all the new recipes, items, bug fixes and overall improvements.

505 Games has promised to show off the PS4 version at E3 in Los Angeles next week, but will be so behind closed doors. The studio has also teased the release of new screenshots and news next week as well.

Terraria was released on the PC back in 2011. It’s growing popularity though helped the game land on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in May last year. The iOS version also happened in August, while the Android one came out in September. The PlayStation Vita version was released in December.

The indie game features exploration, crafting, construction, and combat with a variety of creatures in a randomly generated 2D world. It’s a colorful experience that has many moments where players get a great feeling of accomplishment.
