Samurai Warriors 4 Heading to PS4, PS3 and Vita This Fall
A new entry in Omega Force’s Samurai Warriors, Samurai Warriors 4, will be releasing this fall for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe, Tecmo Koei announced today.
The new installment will feature a total of 55 playable characters — including Takatora Todo, Naotora Ii and Munenori Yagyu, all of whom are inspired by figures from Japan’s Warring States period. The game additional boasts several new modes, attacks and features like allowing players to switch between characters and more.
The game will be available for $49.99 on PlayStation 3, $59.99 on PlayStation 4 and $39.99 on PlayStation Vita. All versions will be sold through the PlayStation Store and support cross-system saves across each platform.
Samurai Warriors 4 will officially release on October 21, 2014. The game will make its debut at E3 next week where the publisher will be showing off gameplay footage.
The franchise can be traced back to its glorious PlayStation 2 days. It however took a break in between from Sony’s platform, with Samurai Warriors 3 being announced in 2010 as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Wii. It’s good to see the series coming back home.
