Batman: Arkham Knight Delayed to 2015, Batmobile Battle Trailer Released
Let’s start with the disappointing bit of news so that the good part can make up for it in time. It has been confirmed that the concluding installment of the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight has been delayed to 2015.
The news came out through an event hosted by Rocksteady Studios where a hands-on demo was also provided for the Batmobile. So yes, the rumors that we have been hearing since a month or so are actually true.
Dax Ginn of Rocksteady has provided Kotaku with an official statement explaining the reasons for the delay which are, as expected, that it needs more time to polish:
Batman: Arkham Knight is totally awesome. The thing about awesome, though, is awesome takes time. And totally awesome takes a lot of time. So in collaboration with our colleagues at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, we have decided to extend the development time of Batman: Arkham Knight.
Now, the very simple reason for doing this is to ensure we are delivering the awesome level of quality that Batman fans and gamers expect from this, the final episode and the epic conclusion to the Rocksteady Arkham trilogy. The Dark Knight will face his ultimate challenge in Batman: Arkham Knight now to be released in 2015.
Now that the disappointment has sunk in, let’s have a look at the sleek Batmobile that is going to be playable for the first time in the series’ history. The trailer above shows a battle sequence using Batman’s ride.
You will get an ‘attack mode’ where a mini-gun pops out of the roof of the vehicle. Then there are a set of teasers that can throw away the enemies. The trailer itself is fun to watch, so we suggest that you give it a try to let us know what you think of it.
While you are at it, do share your thoughts on adding a gun to the vehicle since Batman has always been pretty ‘anti-gun’ for he doesn’t really like to kill off people.
What else in Batman: Arkham Knight is making you stay eager for it?
