Naughty Dog is Working on a Major Unannounced AAA Title
Naughty Dog has revealed that it’s working on a number of projects that include the remastered version of The Last of Us, additional DLC for the blockbuster, the new Uncharted for PlayStation 4 and a major unannounced title.
According to co-president Evan Wells, the new project is “on the scale of Uncharted” but is still a long way away from being officially revealed. The reason is because development has just begun on the said project and work is still “in very early pre-production stages.”
“We have the sizable team that it takes to get something like that off of the ground,” Wells told Game Informer, “but it’s got a long runway in front of it. We have a lot of great ideas and some stuff that is already getting everybody jazzed and excited. So, it’s a long way off before we can really start talking about it in detail. But no, [Bruce and Neil working on Uncharted] is not going to impact our ability to keep that stirring that pot.”
Speculation leads the web to believe Naughty Dog has started working on a sequel to The Last of Us and why not.
The title has already produced crunching sales figures and has unanimously been accepted as one of the best stories of this era. It only makes sense that the studio has decided to go for another installment but this time focusing on the next-gen hardware of the PlayStation 4.
Unfortunately the game’s original creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley are working on development of the new Uncharted. If Naughty Dog is really working on The Last of Us 2, then it’ll be needing some new blood to lead the charge.
