The creator of Mortal Kombat franchise, Ed Boon has been teasing the upcoming title in the series for last few days hinting the possible reveal today.
However, just ahead of its reveal, a listing has popped up on Amazon UK, which is calling the next game in the series “Mortal Kombat X” that will release for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2015.
Previous entry in the series was released in 2011, which served as a 9th installment in the popular franchise.
Mortal Kombat (2011) introduced a new feature called ‘super meter’ that can be charged by doing multiple actions during battle. There are total of three levels of super meter with each one providing special move for the fighter.
Modes in the game included a fatality training mode, which can be utilized to practice certain moves and execute the awesome finishing maneuvers.
In addition to fatality training, the game featured a story mode, which followed the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon with both forces of light and darkness eliminated.
It will be very interesting to see how the next iteration in the series will complement the story of past titles but the good news is, curtains from Mortal Kombat X will be lifted later today.
