Blizzard Explains Garrison Feature In Warlords Of Draenor

Blizzard’s upcoming expansion of World of Warcraft, Warlords of Draenor includes a key new feature which allows players to build Garrisons.

This takes this highly successful MMORPG back to where it all began, as a strategy game where players could build structures, gather resources etc.

Blizzard launched a series of blog posts on Battle.net detailing this feature. The first article in this 4 part series and gives a general view of what the Garrison system entails.

“Part of your mission is to raise an army capable of toppling the Iron Horde, and the Garrison is integral to that experience. In terms of gameplay, that means you’ll be creating and strengthening your Garrison as you journey to level 100.” Stated the blog post.

Players will be given choices regarding which buildings to add to their Garrison, which will depend on their current map region. Each building will have its own benefits for that specific area as well as quests.

Players will be able to recruit followers through variety of different methods to populate their Garrisons. There will be a total of 21 unique building types available to players, and a garrison can have a maximum of 10 buildings in it.

Part 2 of the series will be published soon and will focus more on the specific building types and their unique advantages.

Warlords of Draenor is expected to release sometime around December this year and is the fifth expansion of World of Warcraft.
