Criminal Convoy missions revolve around intercepting a Convoy carrying one or more than one VIPs within allotted time space lest you will fail the mission.
Although most of the missions encourage killing the VIPs, a few require you to knock them out using your baton. Each VIP during these missions has two or more cars of bodyguards by his side with more reinforcements waiting at the back end.
Watch Dogs Criminal Convoys
Just like Crime Detection, you’ll receive automatic notifications related to Criminal Convoys by ctOS System or profiling random citizens.
Like I have mentioned above, it is crucial to intercept a VIP before he reaches his destination, and more reinforcement will arrive at the scene as soon as you hit them. Therefore, it is very important that you prepare yourself for a good launching attack.
Since the complete route of a VIP will be available on your map, you can get ahead of them and make the necessary arrangements.
Make sure that you make good use of Steam Pipes and Blockers, both of which are proven to be extremely useful. If you’re allowed to kill a target, perfectly hacking a Steam Pipe can make this job quite easy.
Furthermore, you can block a passage with a large truck with IEDs attached on it for the massive explosion. Grenade Launchers and Sniper Rifles are also good for taking out drivers.
After killing the VIP, you will be required to eliminate the rest of the crew or escape the area; both are equally easy.
There are 18 Criminal Convoy Missions and completing them all unlocks Road Rage Achievement/Trophy along with Destroyer Weapon and Critical Focus Skill.
Small Town Justice
Location: Pawnee
This mission requires you to knock out two targets accompanied by two Enforcers and three Elites. Since you cannot kill the targets, it is crucial that you devise such a plan which doesn’t involve killing these targets.
Try to get ahead of the pack and you will come across old railway tracks with Blockers in front of them. You need to use these Blockers to your advantage by placing a couple of IEDs in front of the Blockers.
Your primary goal here should be blowing up the car carrying Enforcers (which is leading the covey) because rest of the mission is pretty easy.
Parker Pursuit
Location: Parker Square
This mission requires you to kill one VIP target who will be accompanied by 5 Veterans.
Get ahead of the pack and you will see that there are three Steam Pipes on the route which can easily take out all vehicles. The third Steam Pipe has some good cover around it which can come in handy.
Blow up the cars at the third Steam Pipe and take out the rest with anything you like. You can also place some IEDs on the Steam Pipe for more impact.
Made Men
Location: Parker Square
This mission requires you to knock out a Veteran VIP accompanied by three Veterans and an Elite soldier.
Out of all the Criminal Convoy missions, this is the easiest one you will do. Just as the mission starts, you will see a Steam Pipe right in front of you. Blow it up to take out most of the soldiers followed by ramming your baton on the head of the VIP who will come out of his car to see what’s going on.
Into the Pit
Location: Chicago Fire Department
This mission requires you to kill a Veteran VIP accompanied by three Veteran soldiers and an Elite soldier.
This is yet another easy mission which can be done by utilizing the Steam Pipe on VIP’s route. Perfectly hacking the Steam Pipe would be sufficient to take out the target.
Even if it’s not, you can go ahead and drop in some shots before heading away in your vehicle.
Lords of the Wards
Location: The Wards
This mission requires you to knock out your target who will be accompanied by two Veterans and an Elite soldier.
For this mission, I would advise you to travel to the very end of the route and stop near Jay’s Garage. You will come across a Steam Pipe right outside Jay’s Garage.
Now, you need to hide in your car or someplace where the mobs won’t see you. And as soon as the first car reaches near the Steam Pipe, neutralize it.
If you are good at hiding, the mobs won’t call for reinforcements and you will be able to take them down along with knocking out the VIP for an easy completion.
Juggernaut
Location: West Side
This mission requires you to take out a target travelling in a cement-mixing car and accompanied by six Elite soldiers.
The route taken up by the Criminal Convoy is a short one and you won’t have much time for planning out your attack; therefore, it is advised that you have a high-speed bike with you.
Since you won’t have much time to plan out your attack, your best bet is to get to a Steam Pipe right in front of a bar and wait for the truck to arrive (which shouldn’t take long).
Now, it is very crucial that perfectly time your hack of the Steam Pipe which will definitely stop the truck. Once the truck is stopped, you can take out a Grenade Launcher and hit the front or draw out any favorite weapon to finish the job.
Small completion time is the only thing that makes this mission difficult. If you manage the overcome it, the rest is a piece of cake.
Dockwork
Location: Industrial District (Brandon Docks)
In this mission, you need to take down an Elite soldier accompanied by four Veteran soldiers.
This is yet another easy mission that gives you plenty of time to breathe and plan your attack. Just as the mission starts, you will notice that the haphazard traffic will urge the target to come a halt.
This will give you a perfect opportunity to become a Marksman and shoot down your target from a distance and then making a run for your hideout. Simple and clean!
No Rules
Location: Shipping Yard (Brandon Docks)
This mission requires you to only knock down your target who will be accompanied by seven Elite soldiers and 2 Veterans.
For an easy completion, you should get ahead of the pack (you will have plenty of time) and find a perfect cover near a security checkpoint near Illinois Port Authority.
Make sure to make the vehicle carrying the VIP to come to a halt and deal with all the guards. Having a Grenade Launcher at your disposal can take out most of the vehicle and Elite Soldiers in no time.
Once you have dealt with the guards, run up to the target and deliver a quick blow of your baton on his head!
Toll Bridge
Location: Eastbound Highway (The Loop)
This mission requires you to take out a VIP in an armored vehicle accompanied by three Veterans and three Elite soldiers.
This mission is pretty difficult in the sense that you won’t have any Blockers or Steam Pipes on the route. Therefore, the only and best option is to go out offensive and take him out along with his cronies.
For this mission, I would advise getting a speedy car (A bike is good-for-nothing in this situation) and getting ahead of the pack. Once you’re at the intersection where road divides, you need to cause a massive traffic jam so that the target comes to a halt.
Once you have successfully done so, you need to go out in the open and take down your target. If you’re good with Frag Grenades, you can make it relatively easier.
The Beast
Location: Highway (The Loop)
In this mission, you need to take out a VIP traveling in an armored vehicle accompanied by four Veterans and an Enforcer.
Just as the mission starts, you will see that the mobs pass through an underground tunnel with minimal traffic. This is the point where you need to hit them.
Make sure to get ahead of them and park your vehicle so as to block their path. Once you have done that, grab a Grenade Launcher and cram a grenade through the windscreen to take out your target.
While waiting to ambush, you can also stick an IED to your vehicle and blow it to take out Enforcer.
Caught in the Loop
Location: East Side (The Loop)
This mission requires you to knock out two VIPs accompanied by twelve Veterans and two SUVs. Killing either of these targets will result in failing the mission.
This mission isn’t easy at all, but you should try to get ahead of the pack and you will come across an intersection of alleyways with Blockers on both sides.
This is the place where you should hit them for maximum efficiency. Once your targets are stuck between the Blockers, use Blackout to minimize their visibility followed by knocking out the targets first.
Once you have done that, you can either escape or kill the remaining cronies for an easy completion.
Excessive Force
Location: Financial District (The Loop)
This mission is easily the most frustrating mission in Criminal Convoys, primarily because it involves knocking out a cop accompanied by six SWAT soldiers in armored vehicles.
Adding to that is a short route that these cops take and the negative reputation that you will receive for killing cops. What!
Since the route is pretty short, you won’t have any time to plan out your attack other than using Steam Pipes to your advantage. Throughout the route, you will come across two Steam Pipes and you should use the second one (the one near the end of the route).
Having a decent timing with the Steam Pipe will urge the bad cop to come out of his armored car, giving you a perfect opportunity to strike. However, the real mess beings after knocking down this cop.
The cops will start pursuing you like mad dogs. This will be your real test of evading cops. You must successfully evade all cops to complete this mission.
Long Division
Location: Downtown Chicago (The Loop)
Once again, this mission revolves around brining two bad cops to justice that can be a little difficult with two Enforcers and three Elite soldiers watching their backs.
Before beginning this mission, I would highly advise that you spend in some Skill Points in Enforcer Beatdown Skill since it costs you far less reputation loss than killing them outright.
You also need to note that using IEDs or Grenade Launchers aren’t effective since you can easily take down your targets in the cross-fire or impact of the explosions.
Your best bet in this mission is to divide and kill. As the convoy reaches the bridge, you must hack it (with perfect timing) so that half of the convoy gets through the bridge and the others half remains below.
In this way, you will have to deal with one Enforcer at a time which is far less forgiving than the two of them at the same time.
The Quick Fix
Location: Midtown Freeway (Mad Mile)
This mission requires you to take out an easy target accompanied by two Veteran soldiers.
Since the convoy moves on a highway, you won’t have access to Steam Pipes or Blockers. Hence, the only way left to you is to go inside offensive and take out your target.
You will notice that luckily this VIP doesn’t have many bodyguards around him which makes this mission quite easy. All you need to do is to grab a speedy vehicle and get ahead of the convoy followed by causing a massive traffic jam.
Once you have done that, simply snipe down your target or use a Grenade Launcher. However, keep in mind that the latter option will most probably initiate a cop chase or cause causalities.
Militia Mile
Location: Riverfront (Mad Mile)
This mission requires you to take out a VIP accompanied by three Veteran soldiers.
This mission is so easy that it won’t take you five minutes to complete it. The route that this convoy takes is literally swarming with Steam Pipes.
You will only need a perfect hack of one Steam Pipe to take all of these soldiers out. Choose any of the Steam Pipes on the route and you will complete it in no time.
Downtown
Location: Main Street (Mad Mile)
This mission requires you to finish off a target accompanied by three Veteran soldiers.
The route that this convoy takes is a long one which gives you plenty of room to breathe and plan your attack. However, it is a straight track without any effective hack-able objects. Therefore, you will have to rely on your firepower and explosives to take down this target.
Get a SUV or any vehicle and get ahead of the convoy. You need to find someplace where you could have some cover (the place near the elevated tracks is a good option).
Once you get there, you need to park your car in way to cause a traffic jam. To make things easier, place a couple of IEDs on your car and as soon as the convoy approaches, welcome them with a blast. Kill the remaining targets and walk away home.
Chasing Shadows
Location: Underground Expressway (Mad Mile)
This mission requires you to kill a VIP accompanied by an Enforcer, two Elite soldiers, and a Veteran.
This is another mission that encourages that you go in offensive and take out your target. Since the whole route is in underground expressway, you won’t see any Traffic Signals, Steam Pipes, or much traffic to aid you. Make sure that you bring in a couple of IEDs, Frag Grenades, and a Machine Gun.
Get your vehicle and park it in the middle of the road to stop the convoy and stick a couple of IEDs on it. As soon as the convoy comes to a halt, blast your vehicle and target the Enforcer. Also, having Enforcer Beatdown Skill is very helpful in this mission.
Once you have taken out the target, use Jam_Com to plan your escape and complete the mission.
Once you have completed all the Criminal Convoy Missions above, you will get the last mission which is, needless to say, the real challenge.
Requiescat in Pace
Location: Midtown (Mad Mile)
This mission requires you to a knock out a single target accompanied by two Enforcers and three Elite soldiers.
The convoy in this mission is very fast moving and will be way ahead of you. So you need to have a really fast moving car in order to catch up. The shortest way of reaching the convoy is by heading west towards the River Bridge from your starting point.
You won’t be able to set up an ambush during this mission because the mobs will immediately begin attacking you after seeing you.
It’s all about firepower and using your hacks to bring down the VIP target. Your best bet is to cause a massive Blackout and rush towards VIP to take him down followed by escaping the area.
