Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Goes To Space
Publisher Warner Bros has revealed Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham as the latest in the series of releases mixing brands together. Now that the Batman name is hotter than ever, canon has never been less important, meaning free range on these quirky games.
First up, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will release this fall for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS and PC. That’s pretty much every devise left active under the sun.
Previously, Lego games were also the last ones to still service the Nintendo DS, three years past its prime. They really want these things to hit every home.
With the reveal, we also get a first peek at some of the voice acting, which was started in the Lego Batman series. We take to space in the trailer, where Batman meets with Superman, as well as a ridiculous amount of purple-blue lens flaring.
In the story, Batman and pals take on Brainiac, to stop the madman from shrinking down worlds for his personal collection. Brainiac wields the power of the Lantern Rings and to stop the villain, the player will need to obtain said rings.
As always, there’s a multitude of characters that can be unlocked during the game. Additionally, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will feature big Lego pieces for characters like Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy.
Eurogamer has a few additional details on the game as well. Special suits will return to the game and will receive an additional layer, such as requiring batteries to operate Robin’s Illumination suit.
Moreover, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will have some hacking games. Given the space theme of the game, it’s said that it will drop the open-world approach in favor of differing locations.
