Mojang has announced that Minecraft on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita will be releasing in August.

The latest version of the game will take advantage of the increased processing power and resources of Xbox One and PS4 to provide larger worlds with increased draw distance as compared to the Xbox 360 version.

Minecraft Xbox One Edition will be priced at $20, fans who already own the Xbox 360 Edition will get a discount when purchasing the Xbox One edition; taking the price down to $5.

Not only that, they can also transfer all their existing worlds, characters, texture packs to the Xbox One Edition, though not all Minecraft 360 add-ons can be transferred. The upgrade will be available once Minecraft Xbox One Edition releases in August.

Likewise, Minecraft for the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita will also release in August via Playstation Network. Like the Xbox One Edition, fans who own Minecraft Playstation 3 Edition can purchase the game for $20 as well as upgrade for $5 and transfer supported content from the Playstation 3 to the Playstation 4 edition, Vita owners who purchased the game on their Playstation 3, on the other hand, can get the game for free.
