The Elder Scrolls Online Templar Builds Guide – Aedric Spear, Dawn’s Wrath and Restoring Light

The Templar is certainly one of the most diversified classes in the Elder Scrolls Online. Depending upon your Skill Tree, Templar can become excellent fighters, tanks, DPS, and healers.

The Elder Scrolls Online Templar Builds

In this guide, I will be breaking down all Skill Trees of Templar along with each Active and Passive Skill.

Aedric Spear

Should you invest in this Skill Tree solely depends on your desired role. Aedric Spear makes sure that you do massive Damage per Second and dish out hefty AoE damage. It also allows you to fulfill the role of a tank as well as crowd control.

Radial Sweep – Ultimate Skill
It deals (+22) Magic Damage to all nearby enemies.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Area
  • Radius: 5 meters
  • Cost: 75 Ultimate

Active Skills

Puncturing Strikes
You will deliver 4 hits each dealing (+2) Magic Attack. You will also have a chance to knock out enemies at close range.

  • Channel Time: 1.1 seconds
  • Target: Area
  • Radius: 8 meters
  • Cost: 42 Magicka

Piercing Javelin
You will deal (+12) Magic Damage and send enemies flying away (5 meters).

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Enemy
  • Range: 20 meters
  • Cost: 53 Magicka

Focused Charge
It deals (+16) Magic Damage and stuns enemies for 3 seconds.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Enemy
  • Range: 3.5-22 meters
  • Cost: 35 Magicka

Spear Shards
It deals (+11) Magic Damage to nearby enemies and disorients one of them. Your allies can additional 25% Stamina by picking up the spear.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Ground
  • Range: 25 meters
  • Radius: 6 meters
  • Duration: 6 seconds
  • Cost: 42 Magicka

Sun Shield
With this skill, you will create a shield which will increase your maximum HP by 27% for 6 seconds. It also deals (+5) Magic Damage to enemies and each of the connected hits further yield 4% Stamina. However, you will not replenish Magicka during this time.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Area
  • Radius: 5 meters
  • Duration: 6 seconds
  • Cost: 42 Magicka

Passive Skills

Piercing Spear
It increases the chances of a Critical Hit by upto 10%.

Spear Wall
It increases the blocking against melee attackers by upto 14%.

Balanced Warrior
It increases weapon damage and spell resistance by upto 4%.

Dawn’s Wrath

This Skill Tree allows you to deal damage along with a bunch of de-buff to become a hindrance for enemies in using their spells. Templar can become fulfill DPS role effectively while being the infantry using this Skill Tree.

Nova – Ultimate Skill
It allows enemies to dish out 40% decreased damage for 8 seconds and receive (+1) Magic Damage every second. In addition to this, one of your allies could activate Supernova Synergy which will let them damage and stun all nearby enemies.

  • Target: Ground
  • Range: 28 meters
  • Duration: 8 seconds
  • Cost: 300 Ultimate

Active Skills

Sun Fire
It deals (+12) Flame Damage and additional (+6) Flame Damage for 4.5 seconds.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Enemy
  • Range: 28 meters
  • Cost: 35 Magicka

Solar Flame
It deals (+27) Magic Damage to the enemies. In addition to this, it also increases the weapon and spell power of following attack by (+6) with the exception of Solar Flare, Dark Flare, and Solar Barrage.

  • Cast Time: 1.5 seconds
  • Target: Enemy
  • Range: 28 meters
  • Cost: 42 Magicka

Backlash
With this ability, enemies keep on absorbing damage for 6 seconds and take (+33) damage as soon as the effect ends.

  • Cast Time: 1.5 seconds
  • Target: Enemy
  • Range: 28 meters
  • Duration: 6 seconds
  • Cost: 25 Magicka

Eclipse
With this skill, negative spells are reflected back to casting enemies.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Enemy
  • Range: 28 meters
  • Duration: 4 seconds
  • Cost: 60 Magicka

Blinding Light
It disturbs enemies’ balance for 3.5 seconds and makes enemies miss a hit by 50%.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Area
  • Radius: 5 meters
  • Duration: 3.5 seconds
  • Cost: 53 Magicka

Passive Skills

Enduring Rays
It increases the ability duration by upto 20%.

Prism
Activating a Sun Ability generates upto 2 Ultimate Points.

Illuminate
When an enemy is affected by Dawn’s Wrath ability, your Templar will gain upto (+10) spell resistance.

Restoring Spirit
It provides (+2) Magicka during activation of an ability.

Restoring Light

This Skill Tree primarily defines what makes a Templar a diversified character. Although the main purpose of investing into this Skill Tree is to make your Templar a healer, but you can also hop into the fray and take up the role of a melee fighter or remain at bay and provide support.

Rite of Passage – Ultimate Skill
This skill will immobilize you and heal all nearby allies with (+11) HP after every 0.5 seconds for 4 seconds.

  • Channeling Time: 4 seconds
  • Target: Area
  • Radius: 12 meters
  • Duration: 4 seconds
  • Cost: 150 Ultimate

Active Skills

Rushed Ceremony
This skill will wound the nearby ally for (+33) HP.

  • Cast Time: Instant
  • Target: Area
  • Range: 28 meters
  • Cost: 60 Magicka

Healing Ritual
This skill will heal all nearby allies for (+22) HP.

  • Cast Time: 2 seconds
  • Target: Area
  • Radius: 12 meters
  • Cost: 39 Magicka
