Diablo 3 Second Anniversary Brings Double Drop-Rate of Legendary Items and Rift Keys

By   /   May 15, 2014

To celebrate Diablo 3 two-year anniversary, Blizzard is increasing the drop rate for Legendary Items and Rift Key Fragments.

The announcement was made on Battle.net by Community Manager Stephanie ‘Lylirra’ Johnson who has stated that the increased loot will be available from May 15 to May 22.

To celebrate the game’s second anniversary and the community that made it all possible, players who log in to defend Sanctuary this week will receive double Rift Fragments as well as a +100% boost to their chance to find Legendary items. This bonus birthday buff begins in the Americas on Thursday, May 15 at 12:00 a.m. PDT and ends on Thursday, May 22 at 5:00 a.m. PDT.

The only bummer of this announcement is that these rewards are only available to players who are playing PC or Mac version of the game. No love for good old Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. On the plus side, these rewards are stackable and apply to every character in the game.

The announcement follows the recently released Patch 2.0.5 which went live a couple of days ago. Patch 2.0.5 not only brings in a bunch of fixes, but also a few a handful of buffs for Barbarian, Crusader, and Witch Doctor classes.

Now is the time to jump back into the game and see what Blizzard has done with your current build and stack those hard to come by Legendaries and Rift Keys Fragments.

In the related news, Blizzard has also announced that Diablo 3: The Ultimate Evil Edition which includes Reaper of Souls will be released for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on August 19, 2014.
