Sony Removes “Watch Dogs 1080P/60FPS on PS4” Claim from Website, An Honest Mistake?
Sony has retracted its claim about WatchDogs running at 1080P with 60FPS on the Playstation 4.
The claim was removed (from the official website) after days of speculation about the game’s performance on the Playstation 4 which was earlier expected to run at 30FPS and 1080P. While Ubisoft has confirmed the game will run at 1080P on the Playstation 4, the Xbox one version is rumored to run at 960P with 30FPS.
Ubisoft has yet to comment on the situation but taking Sony’s recent action, it’s obvious to assume that the claim was inaccurate. Earlier, when asked about the game’s frame-rate on the next gen consoles, Ubisoft’s cinematic animation lead Lars Bonde stated that whilst the Playstation 4 will run the game at 1080P and the Xbox One less than that, both consoles will run the game at 30FPS.
Last month, Animation Director Colin Graham had told Videogamer.com that Watch Dogs on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One looks identical and that the reason they’re promoting the Playstation 4 version is because of their partnership with Sony.
Watch Dogs releases by the end of this month, May 27, on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 with the Wii U version releasing in Autumn.
