Risen 3: Titan Lords Gets Dark Souls-Like Cinematic Clip
There’s a new trailer out for Risen 3: Titan Lords, which should be titillating to the eye candy crowd, as the cinematic reel is quite sparkly. There’s also some darkness in it, because that’s what the game is going for now.
You may recognize the clip from a previously hinted teaser trailer. It expands on it quite a lot, even if it’s with Dragonball-esque standoffs for filler purposes.
Anyway, in the trailer, a warrior lurks through a desolate forest, stalking an eerie figure in the distance. Then, the character grabs an item that turns into a roaring flame, before attempting an attack on that far-off thing.
It’s safe to assume that the story doesn’t end there. A battle ensues between warrior and a powerful mage with the ability to summon dark beasts.
Danger progressively rises as the battle continues, which culminates in an epic standoff. Watch it, it’s all sorts of dark things you like.
In fact, the story is also strangely familiar. Risen 3: Titan Lords tells the story of a warrior that loses their soul and fight to get it back.
It looks like someone has been looking at how well Dark Souls has been received. For framing purposes: The previous Risen installment went over tropical environments in a pirate setting. It’s not exactly the same atmosphere.
Risen 3: Titan Lords complements this video with a release date. You can expect the game in North America on August 12, 2014 and in Europe on August 15, 2014.
Risen 3: Titan Lords is headed to PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
