Hearthstone Expert Hunter Spell ‘Unleash The Hounds Getting Nerfed

In a recent update from Zeriyah, a community manager for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft it has been revealed that the hunter spell card Unleash the Hounds would be getting nerfed, well sort of.

The update can be read on the official forums.

In the upcoming patch for the game, the mana cost of the card has been increased to 3 from its previous cost of 2. This move by Blizzard was made after realizing the balancing with this card was sort of wrong. The sheer number of combos possible with the card was too much for such a low cost.

While creating card decks is an art and requires skill, hunter decks had been becoming increasingly unbalanced and difficult to play against. The player community had been talking a lot about nerfing hunter cards to even the playing field.

Unleash the Hounds on itself is seemingly a normal card, nothing special at all given how the hounds only have one health and one attack. However, they can be extremely effective when used in a combo with other cards like Raid Leader to double their attack.

Unleash the Hounds is a Hunter-only card that summons one Hound minion with Charge for every enemy minion on the board. In other words, if your enemy has a lot of minions, you can instantly summon a small army of rabid dogs that can attack in the same turn.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a digital card game by Blizzard Entertainment, the studio behind highly successful Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft franchises.
